Randy Orton booked his trip to Survivor Series, in an evening which also saw the Smackdown Live Women's team captain named.
At the start of the evening, the Commissioner Shane McMahon came out to bask in the glory of SmackDown Live's successful invasion of Monday Night Raw.
Those celebrations were soon cut short by Sami Zayn, who promised to take Shane down if he ever again classed himself as a competitor.
Sami went on to address the five-on-five men's elimination match between Team Raw and Team SmackDown Live at Survivor Series, volunteering himself and Kevin Owens to represent the blue brand, an offer Shane 'O' Mac declined.
He did give Zayn a different route to Survivor Series though, setting up a main event between Sami and Randy Orton with the winner becoming the first member of Team SmackDown Live.
Zayn had cheap-shotted Orton in the main event of last week's show and The Viper repaid the favour with an accidental assist from Sami's best friend Kevin Owens.
Angry at the pace of the referee's count as Zayn attempted to roll Orton up for the win, KO inadvertently distracted the official long enough for Orton to deliver a low blow and hit Zayn with an RKO to seal his place at Survivor Series.
Becky Lynch will captain Team SmackDown Live's women at Survivor Series after emerging victorious from a brutal Fatal-5-Way bout with Charlotte, Carmella, Naomi and Tamina.
The battle was furious, but eventually the Irish Lass Kicker caught Carmella in the Dis-arm-her, forcing Miss Money in the Bank to tap out.
AJ Styles made light work of Sunil Singh, in a match created by WWE Champion Jinder Mahal following last week's confrontation with The Phenomenal One.
The Modern Day Maharaja attempted to interfere in proceedings from the off and was quickly ejected from ringside. With his main obstacle now gone, Styles took out Samir Singh, before catching Sunil in the Calf Crusher for the win.
Mahal did get an opportunity to respond to Brock Lesnar, though, after the WWE Universal Champion accepted his challenge for a champion v champion match on November 19.
Claiming he had already overcome plenty of adversities on SmackDown Live, Mahal said he would silence his doubters and slay The Beast in the battle for brand supremacy.
Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin reaffirmed their status as number one contenders for the WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team titles after defeating The New Day.
With the official out of sight, Benjamin delivered a kick to Xavier Woods' back, allowing Gable to pin the former WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team champion.
Baron Corbin was beaten by Sin Cara once again, but this time the night didn't end so well for the luchador.
The Lone Wolf, clearly still smarting from his shock defeat to Sin Cara last week, backed his opponent into a corner and began a relentless beatdown, eventually being disqualified after refusing to yield to the official's five-count.
The United States Champion didn't take kindly to the decision, continuing his assault on Sin Cara which culminated with a brutal End of Days outside the ring.
Bobby Roode confronted Dolph Ziggler backstage and challenged The Showoff to settle their differences next week in a two-out-of-three-falls match, an offer Ziggler gladly accepted.
The action continues next week on Monday Night Raw from midnight on Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event.
