In depth

Verdict

It’s a while since Traditional Dancer got his head in front but he’s 5lb lower as a result and Bruce Lynn takes off a further 7lb. However, the step up to 3m is a concern and just as interesting is the much less-exposed IMADA. He also tries a new trip but has two wins and a second from three previous runs here and should stay. Volcanic is often placed but doesn’t tend to find much off the bridle. Fresh New Dawn is still a maiden but has to go on the short-list given he’s been placed over this distance and further. Ascot De Bruyere won easily over fences last time but will encounter a much different surface today and hasn’t run over hurdles in more than two years. Tyrell has yet to convince he stays this far.
