In depth

Verdict

An interesting opener can go to NEW SPRINGS. The Richard Fahey-trained filly showed up very well on debut behind No Poppy at Ripon. She is bred to be a decent juvenile sprinter and with encouragement from the first run and natural improvement she is selected, although she probably wouldn't want soft ground. The same applies to Ted's Brother, who shaped up much more promisingly at Hamilton than he had on debut. He should show up well on the way to an autumn nursery campaign. Joe Le Taxi is beautifully bred and by a sire who is noted for his juvenile progeny, Johannesburg. He should be adaptable regarding going and could go very well on his first run. So Is She is a decent yardstick but has a vulnerable profile and New Springs can give her jockey-trainer combination a hat-trick in this race.
