Verdict

Sphinx has shown enough of late to suggest a first win this season is not too far away. The headgear is reapplied to Sphinx today who found the improving Bollin Felix too strong last time but importantly relishes a test of stamina. Los Nadis and Forrest Flyer look the biggest dangers to Sphinx. Los Nadis returned to the level after a five month break to finish second on his penultimate start before being reverted to hurdles for his last start where he scored emphatically. His effort behind Astrodome was solid, considering he was conceding so much weight to Sir Mark Prescott's charge while Forrest Flyer steps back up to two miles having found his stable mate too strong earlier this week. Twelve furlongs is his minimum trip these days and providing his recent efforts have not taken their tole, he should be there come the business end. Dr Sharp would have claims on his second behind Ainama two starts back but SPHINX is selected to get punters out on a winning note.
