Fitz Flyer ran a race full of promise when beaten the narrowest of margins by Master Noverre on his Beverley debut over five furlongs earlier this month but the shorter trip today may not be to his advantage and preference is for Parisian Pyramid, who gets the vote with Weatherstaff rated the pick of the remainder. The selection stepped up on his debut effort on soft ground at Newcastle when running a close third to Fol Liam at Haydock earlier this month; a reproduction of that effort may well suffice. Kevin Ryan's Johannesburg colt, Jobe, is an interesting newcomer and any market support for him would be of interest. Linda Perratt's New Tricks is likely to do better over further, while George Moore's Bun Penny is bred for speed but would probably prefer a softer surface. Mark Johnston's Weatherstaff looks the most interesting of the newcomers and while the yard's two-year-olds normally improve with racing, the odd one does win first time out. Parisian Pyramid sets a decent standard though and he will be tough to beat.
