        Verdict

        Divine Spirit looked unlucky at Sandown last time and the Michael Dods-trained gelding is taken to make amends here off just a 1lb higher mark today at the main expense of Brut and Glencairn Star. The last mentioned has been in good form of late but now has a career high mark to defy and may just need some help from the handicapper. Brigadore is probably better over the minimum trip, while Ptarmigan Ridge is on a long losing sequence. Bold Marc has been thereabouts of late and is entitled to respect although a bigger threat is likely to come from Brut, who represents the very much in-form yard of Jim Goldie. Divine Spirit caught the eye at Sandown last time though and he gets the vote.
