Verdict

Plume d'Oudairies could be of interest being dropped into selling company for the first time but Henrietta Knight's mare has given little cause for optimism of late and a safer bet in a poor start to the night's action could be Gotcha Covered, who gets the vote ahead of Directa's Digger. The last mentioned was ultimately disappointing in this grade at Towcester on Tuesday but, if anything, this is a weaker race and the less stiff track could well suit Michael Scudamore's four-year-old. Keepasharplookout showed improved form at Uttoxeter on his first outing for a year and a half and he could be of interest if able to build on that effort, while Mitrash ran well in a better race at Stratford last month and Don McCain's gelding has to be respected on that evidence. Marginal preference though is for the Irish raider Gotcha Covered, who ran creditably at Navan last month and has to be of interest on his first visit to the UK, especially in a race as weak as this.
