In depth

Verdict

Lysander has been running consistently well of late and has to be respected but has rather harshly been raised another 6lbs despite being beaten into third place behind Kew Jumper at Lingfield at the beginning of the month and a better bet looks to be Sparkling Taff, who gets the vote with Haggle Twins rated the pick of the remainder. The selection hails from the in-form Sue Smith stable has been running well and remains feasibly well treated and should not mind the drop back in trip. Don McCain's Maurice has claims on the pick of his form but could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while Lankawi has given little sign for encouragement in recent starts. Charlie Mann's Haggle Twins is better than he showed when pulled up at Chepstow last time and he looks well treated but a safer option seems to be with Sparkling Taff.
