In depth

Verdict

Brewster has not been seen since December 2006 and is probably not as good as he once was but the Ian Williams-trained gelding sets a decent standard and the 11-year-old is taken to make a winning return, getting the verdict ahead of Lady Myfanwy and Hip Pocket. The last mentioned was highly tried in the Foxhunters at Cheltenham last time and should appreciate what represents a drop in class today but he does need to improve to trouble the judge. Kausse de Thaix is of a similar level of ability, while Carthago ran better at Warwick last time but needs to build on that effort. Multiple winning pointer Lady Myfanwy ran promisingly on his debut over regulation fences at Leicester last month and represents the main danger to the selection who is Brewster.
