Milk and Sultana, Opera Knight and Diamond Dan are among the shortlist for a difficult betting medium and preference is for the former on this occasion. Gerald Ham's mare can be forgiven a below par run over 1m4f as that was on her reappearance but she has a decent rider aboard and with all of her better form over 1m2f; there is an obvious opportunity to strike at this level. Diamond Dan was a recent winner at Brighton and has proven form on quirky tracks. Still open to improvement, he will be hard to beat if producing his better form. Opera Knight is a tricky customer at the best of times but Sarah Bosley is no mug and he will not be allowed to have his own way. Friends Hope is a consistent type and is likely to be staying on well inside the final couple of furlongs. Escobar has plenty of ability although he has demonstrated a tendency to pull hard in the past and his rider must have this in check to stand any chance of staying on in the finish. A hard race for getting out in but Milk And Sultana is likely to be a nice price and has fewer quirks than most.
