In depth

Verdict

BARKING is from a yard that can't stop sending out debut winners and he looks the percentage call in this maiden ahead of The Best Mode and Classic Gem. On the pedigree side the pick should be good enough to win a race of this ilk so while not looking a superstar the stables form is very convincing. The Best Mode improved from his first run when the ground was against him last time. He should kick on again with the under hoof conditions looking on his side. Classic Gem is related to a few winners and was and expensive enough purchase. Tom Dascombe does well in these events so this one is very much a live contender on debut. Ruby Alexander had some trouble in running first time up but stayed on nicely under a careful ride. More can be expected this time and she should feature. This looks an intriguing contest and Barking looks the D's Bs.
