Verdict

With a rise in the weights of just 1lb for his latest Doncaster win TILLIETUDLEM makes plenty of appeal in this decent stayers' handicap, while obvious dangers are My Arch, Phoenix Flight and Markington. Jim Goldie has placed the pick tremendously well this season, seeing him win five of his last six starts, and only just being touched off here in the other. Two miles on fast ground is ideal and that cosy half-length win last time marks him out as being good enough again today. My Arch is another runner well-placed by his trainer Ollie Pears and he carries top weight for good reason after three really good efforts over this sort of trip already this year. He should not be far away. Phoenix Flight will be competitive carrying 4lbs more than when successful at Kempton over this trip, while Markington has to be feared despite a 6lb rise for his narrow Pontefract success, as he is at the top of his game at present. Act Of Kalanisi is not beyond improvement and both of Brian Ellison's pair should be checked in the market, as he does well in these contests. However, Tillietudlem will take some stopping and he will do for us.
