Verdict

BATEAU BLEU may have what it takes to land the last, though Kyle Of Bute and Aragall are others with strong claims. The selection won a fast ground handicap over a similar trip at Nottingham a couple of starts back and went well enough from 6lbs higher at Wolverhampton last time. He has again been given a 2lb rise for today but with the yard going well and a good draw he may be up to the task. Kyle Of Bute is from another in-form yard, that of Brian Baugh, and trip and ground will certainly suit. Serena Brotherton is booked for the ride and she has a good record in these contests, so the partnership looks set to go close. Aragall has soon been placed to win by the shrewd George Baker and with a 7lb rise for his Colwick Park success he will again be on the premises. Coole Dodger has been given a squeak at these weights, while Acquavella is not discounted now dropped in trip and also in the handicap. Both Abu Dubai and Hurricane Thomas should be watched in the market, but preference is for Bateau Bleu. Jonathan Doidge.
