Today can be the day for EMERALD GIRL to come to the fore and break her maiden, while My Mandy and Saint Sebastian are among the dangers. High numbers are usually favoured over the sprint course here, and Emerald Girl does not come out too badly on that score from stall seven, and she has some other useful credentials besides. One of those is almost certain improvement, after doing so from first run to second, last time running on well over the minimum trip at Carlisle. She should now be fully aware of what is required, and we will take her to come good. My Mandy has not yet been allocated an official mark by the assessor, so is clearly not easy to assess, but a probable mark in the 70s gives her a chance today. She has produced some respectable form in defeat and represents a yard in form. Saint Sebastian finished a length in arrears of Jairzinho over 6f at Leicester last time out and drops back to this trip for the first time. He was still in front after 5f last time before being collared and so this trip is definitely worth a try and he is not out of it by any means. My One Weakness has raced only with cut in the ground to date, but should be able to act on a sound surface according to his pedigree, and that, plus the drop back to this stiff 5f may see him in the shake up, but Emerald Girl is preferred.
