Verdict

POINT OF LIGHT has been superbly placed by Sir Mark Prescott and the three-year-old can make it a six-timer here, with Rosewin the danger. The selection has reeled off five successes on good or fast ground and over trips from 10f to 1m 4f, going up 20lbs as a result. There is no reason why he still cannot improve on that, as he was not fully extended last time and this stiff uphill finish should also help his cause. He can again justify favouritism, but Rosewin can make a race of it. Alan Dickman's filly won here on fast ground in June and has scored when there has been cut recently at both Catterick and Newcastle. A 6lb penalty for the latter gives her a bit to do and she still races from 1lb out of the handicap, but she is respected. Upton Seas may not have handled Epsom last time and has winning form here on fast ground over 10f, so is not one to write off out of hand, but on the face of it this is a tough ask, while Battle Planner has gone well over this trip previously and is still open to improvement now returning to it. An intriguing race where we will continue to follow Point Of Light.
