In depth

Verdict

BATTLE OF BRITAIN has shown promise on both starts and could have too much firepower for Freckenham and Kojak. The last named has plenty of ability but he has yet to convince that he's capable of channelling all of it in the right direction as he unshipped Richard Hughes at Ascot before finding less than expected off the bridle at Bath the last twice (Diamond Vine one place in front last time) and he has enough to prove at present. Freckenham was made favourite on debut but the more experienced Danube Dancer and the potentially smart newcomer Marlinka pulled over two lengths clear. She should improve for that run and wouldn't need to improve too much in order to take a hand. Newstarmcgrath makes some appeal on paper and is worth a market check along with Fantasy Fry who can be expected to fare far better than he did on debut but Hughie Morrison's runner has around 8 lengths to find with Battle Of Britain on their running at Leicester and the well related son of Invincible Spirit is taken to open his account at the third attempt.
