Verdict

Despite having been put up 5lb for finishing second at Uttoxeter, the 11-year-old Englishtown is still thrown in on his best form and looks sure to go well with McCoy back on board. Auberge was runner-up to Rare Coincidence over C&D on her latest start, while Desolait wasn't disgraced when fourth on her handicap debut at Perth and is improving with experience. Mardood has already won three times this year and goes well for Alexander Voy but it could be worth taking a chance on a return to form for ARDESIA, who can be forgiven his run over an inadequate trip at Uttoxeter last time. Already successful three times around here, Kyle James' claim brings his weight down to 10st1lb which could be decisive on this long run-in.
