      Verdict

      Dhaular Dhar is selected here ahead of Beckermet and Phluke. Such was the manner of Dhaular Dhar's Chester victory last time from Beckermet, despite the winning distance having been just a neck, that he can go well in bidding to defy a four-pounds rise in the weights. The latter is now two pounds better off at the weights but has been beaten since. Zomerlust was only just touched off at York a week ago and, coming here in good heart, has to be considered, while Malcheek will, no doubt, win in his turn but he has a career-high mark to defy if he is to score. That last remark applies also to Phluke, who has been raised five pounds for a Warwick win but he looked there as though he still had some more improvement to come. Hiccups has two-and-a-quarter lengths to find based on the form of that race and is three pounds better off today. Obezyana seems to be edging his way back to form although he is four pounds above a winning mark, while King Marju's recent win came in a seller. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Dhaular Dhar.
