Verdict

Osolomio gets the call here ahead of Balyan and Our Teddy. The handicapper has given Our Teddy a chance again now as he is rated two pounds below his Newmarket win of last August and he has to be conisdered. Doctor Scott is now seven pounds below his Sandown winning mark of last July but subsequent efforts have lacked sparkle, although he is entitled to have needed his Chester reappearance effort. A repeat of his Hamilton second to Monolith last time would give Balyan claims, while Osolomio is closely weighted with him based on the form of that race, so he has to be considered too. The latter may have been more inconvenienced by the rain that fell prior to the Hamilton race, hence his choice as the selection. Finally, much as Danzatrice keeps getting raised for getting beaten, she cannot be ruled out in what might become a tactical affair. Once again, then, the selection is Osolomio.
