Quite a few of these met at Thirsk last time, including Strensall and Kangarilla Road, who should be involved in the finish today, however we will take a chance with the old timer Sharp Hat. David Chapman's eleven-year-old hasn't won on the turf for 18 months, but that was over course and distance and off a mark of 64. He has been running much better than his form figures suggest and off today's mark he must hold strong claims. Strensall had, Tommy Smith, Melandre and Kangarilla Road right behind when landing that Thirsk contest. There should be very little between them again at today's weights, but Kangarilla Road didn't get the best of passages through and may come out on top this afternoon. Maromito looks the pick of the remainder, but in a wide open event, Sharp Hat just edges the decision.
