Verdict

GENERAL HAZARD (NAP) was having his first start for new connections when landing a Class 4 handicap at Newcastle and with just 4lb extra he'll take some beating despite a huge weight. Hairdryer won here in November and has performed with credit in two subsequent starts though could have done without a 2lb rise. Music Major ran poorly on this track early in his career but has improved enough to win four times on the all-weather, including at Lingfield a fortnight ago when Mercy Me was behind. He should get into the mix while Russian Reward won a Lingfield claimer last week and has scored here in the past.
