In depth

Verdict

The CARDINAL'S HAT ran well on his debut and is taken to land this opener with both Vanishing Grey and Could it Be Magic worth noting. The selection caught the eye on his debut finishing third of six at Bath running very green in the process and with that experience behind now him he ought to go close to winning this time around. Vanishing Grey will pose as the biggest danger having run well in a couple of above average maidens at Leicester and most latterly at Newmarket. He comes from a powerful yard and warrants plenty of respect. Could It Be Magic is tried in first time cheek pieces to enhance his chances after running three fine races in defeat in similar races. He is well bred and with further improvement he is sure to be in the shake up come the business end of the race. The Cardinal's Hat ran well on his debut and can win on his second attempt.
