    Verdict

It's interesting that BOW BEAVER hasn't been seen since a well-backed win at Carlisle on debut and he is taken to win for local trainer Howard Johnson. The selection pulled miles clear with the runner-up on his debut and although the second hasn't quite franked the form since, he has had his injury problems and excuses. The time was good and having had Royal Ascot aspirations he may be good enough to land this over a trip that should be within range. Pallantes Cross was outclassed last time out at Newmarket but is better judged on his Musselburgh beating of stablemate Mister Angry, a horse that has franked the form since. Spying was very well backed on debut at Beverley and he rewarded supporters with a game run, staying on stoutly to beat Aquarius Star. Whilst he may need a mile in time, there is no doubt that this trip suits and he is likely to be seeing out his race very well. Dencolstina has shown nothing in two runs, so of more interest are the two newcomers Al Naouwee and Think Its All Over. The former made ¿40,000 at the breeze-up sales and is related to lots of winners in the US/Canada, whilst the latter is again from a good US family and cost 55,000 Euros as a yearling. An open heat despite the small field and just narrow preference is for Bow Beaver.
