Verdict

Abbondanza is 'thrown-in' on his first run for Dandy Nicholls if back to form however he is hard to trust and it may be safer to side with LUCKY NUMBERS from his good draw; Last Sovereign and Mr Macattack may be the best of the rest. The selection comes here on the back of an encouraging third to Tabaret at Doncaster. The step up in trip won't be a problem around here and from a good draw he should be able to race prominently throughout. Beckermet is one of several front-runners who are drawn out wide so is opposed, along with Dance And Dance and also Silver Wind, although not because of their draws. Mr Macattack remains capable of better and he featured quite prominently in some big handicaps last year, Fathsta is a course winner and this longer trip is no bother, whilst Kerrys Requiem has been holding her form well of late but mainly on downhill tracks. Last Sovereign creeps into the race on bottom-weight and with Frankie Dettori booked the pair look sure to go well from a nice draw. Two northern raiders Viva Ronaldo and Zomerlust are not discounted, along with the unexposed Leverage on this first run for Michael Wigham, however in a competitive handicap we are happy to return to Lucky Numbers as the selection.
