      Verdict

A potentially smart contest on paper and one that can go the way of AUXILIARY. William Haggas' gelding has been kept away from the top tracks that his price tag might have suggested, and the form of his latest run at Brighton was given a boost by the winner at Pontefract this week. Holy Grail actually took part in that event and while Richard Fahey's filly did enough to suggest herself as a capable of winning a small race, she will need to cope with a very quick turnaround. King's Pavilion hacked up in a Wetherby maiden and the handicapper has reacted accordingly. Alsaaden confirmed the promise of her Doncaster debut on a subsequent return to Town Moor and her pedigree suggests that the step up in trip will suit.
