In depth

Verdict

This looks competitive, as was the handicap won by Raise You at the Curragh on Saturday in which Hightimeyouwon finished mid-division. Dermot Weld's charge, a winner here in September, had little chance from the draw last week and has an each-way chance. However, he only had just over a length to spare over EL PADRE for that victory here and the latter will be 10lb better off. A half-brother to six winners, he makes his handicap debut with bottom weight and gets the nod to make a successful reappearance. Golden Valour was beaten a neck at Leopardstown nine days ago with Ice Cold In Alex the same distance away in third and both are obvious contenders as is Cyrus Dallin, an impressive winner over a big field at the Curragh. Acquiescent was in fine form throughout last year, scoring twice, and still has the scope to do better.
