In depth

Verdict

This may revolve around the southern newcomers, with Hewaraat taken to prevail at the expense of Fardi and Foreign Edition, with Monkstown road and Rio Reva best of the northern contingent. Gallop reports indicate that Hewaraat has been striding out well on the Faringdon Road, and the son of Fasliyev, a half-brother to smart sprinter Khasayl, is taken to oblige at the first time of asking. He is also related to Muklah who won a Listed race over seven furlongs so he should improve as well when stepped up in trip in time. John Dunlop's newcomers always step up on their initial effort, so Fardi, like the selection, owned by Sheikh Hamdan, is one to keep in mind when he too is put over further. Foreign Edition is by Anabaa and on breeding is not guaranteed to stay much further than a mile at the most. He may well be sharp enough to take a hand here, along with Monkstown Road. Ed McMahon's father took this race last year with Local Poet, and you can be sure that this son of Makbul will have done plenty of work on the gallops. Rio Reva has finished runner-up twice so far, but this speedily-bred sort looks nothing out of the ordinary and will be going handicapping in due course. Sound That Alarm looked one to follow when touched off on his Chester bow, but flopped at Sandown. The trip will suit, but he too has been off for a while. All in all, we are prepared to go with the encouraging reports about Herawaat.
