Verdict

Lough Salt has a rare run away from Wetherby but wasn’t beaten far in a higher grade last time and has won over this longer trip. Peter Bowen is trying everything to get a race out of Ghost River. He sports blinkers today but had every chance at Plumpton last time when looking one-paced. Minstrel Royal has also become disappointing and Bendomingo is another who has become expensive to follow, though he looks better treated than Uttoxeter maiden winner Crank Em Up. MIDNIGHT COWBOY was all out to hold on over 2m3f here last month and has 4lb more to carry. He ran poorly over 3m at Uttoxeter previously but Alan King wouldn’t be running him in this if he thought stamina was an issue. Queens Present and Midnight Gem may be the pick of the remainder.
