    Verdict

    FIRE FIGHTING, fifth in a better race at Windsor on Saturday evening, must rate as one of the most likeable, toughest campaigners around and is selected to land a twelfth career success and his third this term. He has understandably struggled when upped to Group company but sets a useful standard in a conditions event such as this and can provide Fran Berry with a welcome winner after a season blighted by injury. Maverick Wave was arguably out of his depth last time but looks next best on his overall form profile, especially as What About Carlo has been struggling for his best form and Beach Bar and Goodwood Zodiac require more to figure.
