In depth

Verdict

Soft going is a concern for a number of these but not Cheque En Blanc. Gary Moore’s stayer has risen 15lb in the weights since October but that only reflects his improvement. He kept on into second behind an unexposed sort last time at Newbury off this mark and another big run is anticipated. However, he is worse off at the weights than when behind SANDHURST LAD at Plumpton in February so the top weight might be the one to be on. Warwick second Albert D'olivate is on a decent mark nowadays and Norse Legend hasn’t been beaten far in his last two. Vango De Vaige could have more to offer upped in distance while Garrane is on a roll, though raised in grade and up a further 9lb. Bact To Black is fitted with cheekpieces in an attempt to go one better than over track and trip nine days ago but this looks a better race.
