In depth

Verdict

BEARS RAILS had been in very good form before a poor effort at Chepstow last month and the very testing conditions were probably responsible for that effort. He's won here before and can gain compensation. With his stable in outstanding form, the lightly-raced Present Man has to be a threat on his debut over regulation fences as he's looked a confirmed stayer over hurdles and finished runner-up in a point-to-point. Free Of Charge, a winner over hurdles here last March, has only had four starts over fences and wasn't beaten far over the track and trip last month so has to be respected as does Dancing Shadow, who broke a blood vessel when strongly fancied here last month after several good runs in better company.
