In depth

Verdict

Alottarain appeared to enjoy the quicker conditions when landing a Chepstow handicap last month and, though 7lb higher, would be a threat to all if the ground dries up further. BACK BY MIDNIGHT just failed to catch Beatu at Haydock and is another suited by better ground and, though he could have done without a 3lb rise in the weights, he's taken to go one better in a very tight handicap. Zigger Zagger has shown ability for Noel Meade, though his future is probably over fences, while Superman De La Rue only succumbed in the closing stages over 2m2f here last month. The lightly-raced Generous Jack makes his handicap debut and his only success to date was gained in a bumper on good going so he's on the short-list while Fred Le Macon will appreciate the conditions even though he's still a maiden after 15 starts over timber.
