Miswadah is the tentative pick in the opener with Piddies Pride and Briery Lane put forward as alternatives. The selection hails from the in-form David Simcock stable and looks to have a favourable draw this afternoon. She had shown little when trained by Kevin O'Donnell but the switch to current connections looks to have been the tonic and she is certainly at the right end of the handicap to do some damage. Piddies Pride has dropped significantly down the handicap in recent months and looks to be coming back to herself after a spell in the wilderness. She can ill afford the slow starts that have blighted her card in the past. Briery Lane is one of the usual battalion from the Milton Bradley stable. She has run well in the past and has to be a factor from a favourable draw. Caustic Wit should be fit from a number of runs on the all-weather but has become notoriously difficult to win with. Misaro has been saddled with a very poor draw this afternoon and is avoided. Napoletano was listed class in Germany a couple of years ago but has shown nothing of note thus far for Simon Dow. Cool Sting should have come on for a recent run following absence. A trappy affair that is typical of this sort of contest and Miswadah receives the tentative vote.
