In depth

Verdict

Cloud Atlas, La Fanciulla and Royal Tavira Girl are those worth noting in this maiden with the Richard Hannon-trained La Fanciulla getting the nod. She contested some hot races last season in better company than this and is the form pick in this race based on her third in a good Newmarket-nursery last October. The Richard Hannon stable is in good form, with his three-year-olds particularly worth noting. Royal Tavira Girl comes here having had the benefit of a run already this season. She was third in a weak Lingfield maiden earlier this month and others are preferred. Cloud Atlas rates as the main danger to our selection. He was second in two Wolverhampton maidens last year and he has Jamie Spencer on board today. He should go close but our selection is La Fanciulla.
