Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Percy Douglas finally found his level last time but may struggle under a penalty in his follow up bid, and so we will give the vote to Bahamian Bay, with Mystery pips also expected to run well. Bahamian Bay is very lightly raced for a four-year-old and so should have plenty of scope for improvement. He was last seen here in October when a decent fourth behind Shadow Jumper. That was over six furlongs but he seems better over the minimum and so if fit from his holiday he should go very close. Percy Douglas just got the better of today's rival Mystery Pips over course and distance last week, the runner up is much better off at the weights and it should be enough to reverse the form. Of the others Boanerges can be given a squeak on the pick of his form, but Bahamian Bay is less exposed than the rest and will not have to improve much to land this modest affair.
