Verdict

Luca Cumani has trained three of the last nine winners so it would be folly to rule out the filly Loving Things, who wasn't beaten far in the Lancashire Oaks on her latest start. Scottish made all to beat Berkshire in a Listed race over 1m2f at Newbury earlier this month but this looks a much tougher assignment. Kings Fete was possibly an unlucky loser at Royal Ascot and Elite Army is another smart handicapper who likes fast going but Yarmouth scorer Majeed may be found out at this level. Ayrad is consistent and won over track and trip last year but MOUNT LOGAN (NAP) also likes it here and Roger Varian's five-year-old can preserve his unbeaten record on the track following a very decent fourth behind Dartmouth in the Hardwicke Stakes.
