Many hold leading chances in a strong renewal of one of the seasonal highlights at this track. With Partners In Jazz just edging our vote over Gift Horse and Lafi, who have to be considered simply for representing sprint king, David Nicholls. Muttawaffer and High Reach are others from top yard with sound claims. The Stewards Cup is a gamblers race. It is an event where luck in running is as vital an ingredient as solid previous form. And that is what makes a versatile performer like Partners In Jazz an irresistible option. Drawn in stall 14, jockey, Willie Supple, will have the option of tracking whichever side is setting the faster pace and, as he gets on very well with the four-year-old, the partnership can be expected to be thereabouts if they can stay out of trouble. Gift Horse will have the assistance of Kieren Fallon again and, despite the hype surrounding the undoubtedly well-treated Lafi, he may prove to be the best hope for the Yorkshire-based handler. Although Lafi is 12lb well-in at the weights and has to be given a serious chance after his near miss last time. He is a skinny price for what he has actually achieved whilst he has been with Nicholls and needs everything to drop just right for him. High Reach and the lightly raced Mutawaffer are others to consider if there are positive indications from the betting market, as both have more to offer at this level. However, it can pay to take a chance with Partners In Jazz, who is back over a more appropriate trip and, with attractive odds being available for a horse that has done very little wrong this term, he gets our vote in the betting heat of the day.
