In depth

Verdict

Mulberry Lad was a narrow winner at Kempton last week but he may struggle to follow up under his 6lb penalty and a better bet may be CITY FOR CONQUEST, who gets the vote over Willhewiz. The last mentioned was narrowly beaten by Welcome Approach in a Wolverhampton handicap last time but a 4lb rise for that looks harsh and Mark Brisbourne's gelding may be best watched. Arfinnit has shown signs of improved form of late and has to be respected in such a poor contest as does Hollywood George, although he is probably better over further. Ian Wood's Easy Wonder has slipped to a fair mark but has given little sign for encouragement of late and preference is for City For Conquest. The John Harris-trained mare has been running consistently well of late over five furlongs but stays six just as well and she is taken to resume winning ways.
