Verdict

THE BEAR has to be followed in the last with Howards Tipple and Lake Chini making the cut as far as a list of dangers is concerned. Linda Perratt's return to the training ranks has been something of a damp squib but The Bear has been one bright spot and having won over course-and-distance, he will be a popular order in the nightcap. Howards Tipple is exposed as modest though has dropped to a helpful mark. Ian Semple's representative is sure to be running on at the death having got outpaced from the gate. Lake Chini is proven on the surface and is Mick Easterby's only runner of the day. Had the yard been in better form, he would have gone close to being our selection. Andrasta is a regular in low grade sprints and seems effective on any surface. Sunley Sovereign represents a yard that are having particular success with their sprinters while First Swallow is without the headgear that accompanied his two recent disappointments. The Bear can land what is a modest finale.
