Verdict

NO GROUSE can come out on top in this handicap and he gets the vote over Catalan Bay and Glasshoughton. Eric Alston's nine-year-old went close at Nottingham last time when he chased home Flying Applause. He is back on a winning mark and with conditions to suit he should be capable of a big run. Catalan Bay is the obvious alternative as Jeremy Gask is in good form and she ran well last time when she chased home Mango Music, but Mick Quinn's mare let the form down on Tuesday when trailing in seventh of eight at Pontefract. Glasshoughton is another that wasn't beaten far last time and trainer Michael Dods is firing in plenty of winners. Methaaly has got course and distance winning form and he could go well at a price, but No Grouse is back on a fair mark and he can take advantage.
