In depth

Verdict

This is almost certain to develop into a match between Look Here's Carol and Fatik, with the former just preferred. there are some potentially interesting newcomers on show here, with the Barry Hills-trained Tantina a likely type on breeding. But she does face a stiff task here on her debut, with a couple of well above average maidens in the line-up. Fatik ran a couple of very solid races as a juvenile and met a smart sort in Sublimity when a beaten favourite at York on his reappearance. However, he was a big disappointment when only second at long odds-on at Goodwood last time, and trainer Marcus Tregoning could offer no explanation for his poor showing. With that in mind, we'll side with Bryan McMahon's Look Here's Carol, who certainly deserves to pick up a race like this. She went down by just a short head in Listed company at Nottingham the time before last, and was again not disgraced in Listed company at Warwick last time. Highly tried of late, this drop in class should be enough to see Look Here's Carol get her head in front for the first time.
