Verdict

A tricky end to proceedings with softer ground an unknown for the hat-trick seeking Night Generation after easy wins at Lingfield and Beverley. The lightly-raced Magic Circle has won on soft going at Doncaster and Newmarket this year, however, so goes on the short-list while Lady Of Yue, Braes Of Lochalsh and Heart Locket are proving consistent. But Handiwork and Forced Family Fun will be back over hurdles in the near future. ALWAYS RESOLUTE has won two of his three previous starts here. He only beat Heart Locket by half-a-length over 1m6f last time but the step up to 2m has been long overdue and he's still at the right end of the handicap with his rider's claim a plus. Star Rider's run at Chelmsford last month was too bad to be true and he could also play a part.
