Verdict

The second division of the maidens looks stronger and from a shortlist of Tenth Night, Miss Firefly and Maracana Boy, the vote goes to the last named. Jamie Osbourne has his string in good nick however Tenth Night may need further before we see his full potential. Therefore Maracana Boy is taken to make good use of his experience. The form of his last run has been boosted by the runner-up winning since in a better race and having shown some good early pace previously, he could be hard to peg back. I Don't Do Walkin has a speedy American pedigree so should be respected although the stable is out of sorts, so of more interest may be the once-raced pair Captain Dunne and Fabuleux Cherie who should both come on for their debuts. Miss Firefly has a mixture of speed and stamina in her pedigree so should be monitored for market support, however Maracana Boy can make it third time lucky.
