In depth

Verdict

Bosun Breese is the pick ahead of Marias Buddy, with Talk Of Saafend and Seventh Cloud others worth a mention. Normally, a high draw would be preferential to a low one in a sprint at Kempton, but the first two mentioned have by far the best claims from a form perspective, so both Marias Buddy and Bosun Breese have to be the two to concentrate on despite being housed low. The latter finished a close third to Kersaint and the odds-on Silver Guest on his Leicester bow a month ago, and has the Tattersalls October Stakes at Newmarket in autumn as his main target, so will hopefully take a step closer to that today. Marias Buddy makes a quick reappearance after finishing third to an Aiden O'Brien inmate on her Tipperary debut last Thursday, and if over those exertions, the Irish raider will prove a threat. Talk Of Saafend was keen to post on her Windsor bow, but was not beaten that far at the end. She will do better over further in time on breeding, but would not have to improve too much to figure. The market will be a guide to the remainder, with Bosun Breese our pick in the hope that Tom Queally can get him across to the far rail quickly.
