Verdict

Just one favourite has won this in the last ten renewals. Crocus Bay will attract support on his handicap debut after landing a maiden at Clonmel though this is much tougher. Substitute scored over 2m6f here last August by almost a distance and ran well on his penultimate start here while Heavenly Chorus, seven times a winner for Keith Reveley in the UK, makes her debut for new connections on a lenient mark. KILFLORA had been running well over fences before reverting to hurdles on a lowly mark at Ballinrobe. He couldn't quite manage to hang on against Split Ear but ridden with a bit more restraint here can go one better. Cnoc Seoda is better over further and will be staying on at the finish while Imperial Shabra ran another good race at Sligo on Sunday though a career strike-rate of 3-63 is a little off-putting.
