In depth

Verdict

LUCKY PIGEON could be improving enough to gain her first success over hurdles. The five-year-old followed a fair effort over this trip at Cork with a better performance when runner-up to Our Girl Lucy there last week and is capable of climbing the ratings with further progress likely. Turnonthegas bounced back to form with a solid run behind Dunroe Boy at Bellewstown though he's now on his highest ever mark and Kalico Kim, who has gained three of her career victories on this track including a handicap last month, looks more of a threat. Duroob had been chasing before reverting to timber with a very good run behind Our Eric at Roscommon while Tarquinius is one to note on his debut for Tony Martin as all career starts with Charlie Mann had been over fences, mainly from much higher in the weights.
