      Verdict

The Ballydoyle battalions are out in force with Aidan O'Brien having three entries and Joseph running the newcomer Arcada, the third foal of a mare whose previous two have won. Edgar Allan Poe has found 5f on quick ground too sharp so should be suited by tonight's conditions as should Istan, who has performed with credit on testing ground. The best of the quartet may turn out to be COURAGE UNDER FIRE, a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner in the USA and from a family of top-class performers on his dam's side. He's entered in Group 1's later and can make a successful start. All Crazy Now attempted to make all over 7f at Gowran but couldn't quicken from the furlong pole while Glenamoy Lad attracted major support at Tipperary and is expected to do better as is Mirdif, who started favourite at Fairyhouse but didn't get the run of the race.
