A trappy affair if ever there was one and EVER CHEERFUL is the selection with Shaded Edge and Smirfys Systems the others to catch the eye. Andy Haynes' runner is something of a seven furlong specialist and he confirmed his well-being with a recent second over course and distance. Paul Nolan is well worth his 7lb claim. Shaded Edge needs little introduction to followers of racing around here. David Arbuthnot has been among the winners under the National Hunt code of late. Smirfys Systems is plating class nowadays but would have made more appeal had this been at Wolverhampton. Loyal Royal is consistent at this grade although this has led to him gradually creeping back up the weights. Wee Buns looks to have lost his way and is one to watch at present. Shake On It would have decent claims on some of his better form though he has become very inconsistent these days. Comrade Cotton has performed creditably over this trip in claimers and would be suited by an end-to-end gallop. Lord Deevert appears best of the rest. Ever Cheerful has most positives where many have negatives.
