In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap here with many in form rivals in opposition including Royal Prodigy, Reminiscent and Komati River and we will side with the bang in form Royal Prodigy. The gelding from the Ron Hodges yard won as seller in good style last time out and although he is unproven over a trip this far he is taken to score while he is in such good form.. Reminiscent rates a danger he was a good second behind Victory Quest last time but he gave the impression he was in the handicappers grip so for that reason he is passed over. Komati River is another that could go well as he runs well fresh and a reproduction of his second behind Most Saucy would see him go close especially as he should be suited by the step up in trip.Very Exclusive has dropped to a handy mark and is from a shrewd yard so is worth noting in the market. Of the remainder Compton Eclaire goes well at the track but is unproven over the trip, so in a tricky affair we are happy to stick with Royal Prodigy.
