    Verdict

Ubiquitous has proved relatively consistent of late and deserves a place on the short-list along with Inquisitress and Bold Hawk but the suggestion in an open race is STRAIGHT AND LEVEL. Ubiquitous has something to prove on an all-weather surface with her one previous run on the polytrack inconclusive with regard to her ability to handle the surface but there's no reason to think that she won't be effective here. Bold Hawk has struggled for form and come a long way down in the weights as a result but there was more encouragement to be taken from his latest run in a Wolverhampton claimer and the services of the talented Mr Fox are retained. Inquisitress races predominantly at Brighton, Kempton and here at Lingfield and seems equally at home at each of her favourite venues; she comes here in good form but may just be a shade high in the weights. A chance is taken with Straight And Level who has just one win to his name but he has been steadily edging down the weights, shaped with a little more promise last time and is partnered for the first time by Ian Mongan who boasts a handsome level stakes profit for the yard.
